Home away from Home
“I am drawing this dragon for you, to hang it in your bedroom” – he said to me nonchalantly without looking up, focused on his task at hand. Taken by surprise, I stared at the blank sheet of paper. His drawing was happening easily and swiftly, with no hesitation his magic dragon emerged from the pencil in his hand. It looked so perfect, they both did. I adore these little moments of perfection when everything falls into place effortlessly. I was standing in awe watching them both come alive. I was curious to know where his dragon came from. Without a shadow of a doubt he answered: “From the mountains between Myanmar, Bhutan, Sichuan and Yunnan.” He said the dragon had a Chinese name that he couldn’t remember any more, but that didn’t seem to bother him in the least. “I will look it up on the internet and write it in Chinese for you” – he said confidently, as if he’s been writing Chinese his whole life. I wanted to laugh but didn’t, in respect of his remarkable confidence.
I asked about his dragon’s color. “He is green, but he doesn’t really have a color because he is an energy. Energy doesn’t really have color.” I chuckled and asked if the dragon is a rather good and kind energy or bad and evil. “Oh, that depends”, he replied. “The dragon is mainly kind though impressive. But he really really dislikes disrespect. If you are disrespectful, he can get very angry.” Phew, I was smart not to laugh at him earlier 🙂 . I wanted to know why he thought I needed a dragon in my bedroom. ” To protect you in your dreams. I always sleep with my dragon, he looks like a plush toy but he is alive you know. This is why I’m still keeping him with me every night. Dragons fly, they fly very high, they fly in dreams too. They can take you very very high, away from everything.” I asked him if he wasn’t afraid to be taken to such a high place away from everything. He shook his head in disbelief: “Afraid? Who would be afraid of being taken home?! Home is a beautiful place you know.” Well, I guess this young man wasn’t afraid to call home some place else… He watched me laugh my heart out for a few seconds, then he asked very seriously: “Why are you laughing?” I told him how I thought he was very brave to venture traveling so far in a dream land and that I was surprised to learn that he had a home somewhere else than where he was sitting and drawing the dragon for me. “If you sit on the dragon’s back, he will take you to visit many doors, and if you step beyond the doors you will visit many homes. I live in some of these homes. I like this one too but it’s not my favorite”.
In that very second I realized that since our earliest existence in this world, we are taught to think in terms of duality and contradiction, where only ‘either / or’ makes sense and becomes our collective modus operandi. So here I am, being given a lesson in multilateral thinking and multidimensional existence by an 11 year old. How quickly I forgot these days when I had to explain, even to fellow shamans, my ability to access other realities without using shamanic drumming, breathing, hallucinogens or any other such tools widely believed necessary to enter alternative worlds. I have an explanation, we are multidimensional beings perfectly capable of developing an awareness of our multidimensional existence. Imagine how different our world will be when we start seeing beyond the form, into the multidimensionality that is hidden behind. I bet you that we will outgrow the survival mechanism of the ego mind and all the troubles, illnesses and limitations that come with it in no time.
I believe that that ‘no time’ is soon or soon enough. Next time you find yourself at the end of a road thinking whether you should go left or right, remember that you can go left, right, straight on, backwards, sidewise, diagonally etc. Your possibilities are limitless and you may try all of them. This is where our free will lies, this is how we truly forge our destinies. Going left or going right is the decision of our ego mind, limiting our existence into the ‘either / or’ thinking, so often mistaken for free choice and free will. Our free will lies in our innate ability to live multiple existences simultaneously and decide which one we want to focus our energy on. Dragons live up in the skies, down at the bottom of the deepest oceans, left in the fires of the Earth, right inside the mountains, sideways lining our beds, diagonally in the dream land, watching us with their multiple heads stepping on the multitude of possible existences. You banish the dragons, you banish the heros inside of us. For only heroes embrace the fear of the unknown, with the fearless transparency of their true being, allowing the possibility of being transversed across the universes in multiple existences all intertwining into one destiny.
p.s. Thank you Sue @ http://suedreamwalker.wordpress.com/ for shedding the light on my black dragon energy. I owe you a public apology for not having responded to your such personal and purposeful email to me, but I promise it’s coming!!!! I wish you to know that you have at least partially inspired this post. Thank you, thank you, thank you! xox
I really admire your way of thinking “given a lesson in multilateral thinking and multidimensional existence by an 11 year old” and you have a mind open enough to take great advice and wisdom no matter how unlikely the source…not many people I know could do that. Wonderful post. Take care…
Thank you! I am certain that if we would listen more to our children when they are still young enough to be authentic (and not influenced by all the crap going on around them 🙂 ), and if we had more courage to allow them to walk their path and more awareness to support them along the way, we would save ‘soul searching’ to so many adults of today… xox
What a lovely story of adventure, creativity, wisdom of your 11 year old, dragons, fears and multidimensional living. Do we have a hero and andepic adventure? Or is that up to us in exercising our multidimensional powers? XD
I don’t know an answer to your question Brad 🙂 . But I do know that if we lived our lives as heroes, not victims, we would certainly live more epic adventures instead of life dramas… Or maybe this is an answer? Ha ha, I don’t know, I’ll let you decide 😉
Thanks for loving and seeing through the story xox
PS, I agree with Randall.
Dear ST… thank you for posting yet more revealing awareness of Dragon Energy… I smiled as you disclosed your artist was only 11 yrs old.. I smile as I know a soon 4 yr old who is teaching me with wisdom far beyond this dimension .. 🙂 Many thanks for your added gratitude.. I look forward in anticipation for the reply…. 😉 Loved reading and learning!

This post has brought me to tears as I wake up this morning from another series of vivid Dreamtime. I have re-initiated my exploration of parallel lives and universes after attending a lecture recently. At this level my interest is towards reading and film, if you have any suggestions!
Imagine how different our world will be when we start seeing beyond the form, into the multidimensionality that is hidden behind. I bet you that we will outgrow the survival mechanism of the ego mind and all the troubles, illnesses and limitations that come with it in no time.
I totally agree with you here!
You are an extraordinary teacher with such a blossoming heart! So happy to call you friend on this journey.
Namaste my sister,
Aaaawww Linda Girl, you made me laugh, blush, happy and humble, all at once. Thanks so much for calling me a teacher, I don’t think of myself as one, but then aren’t we all? I do luv the idea of a blossoming ❤ ! That's so beautiful!!!
I remember one of your exceptional posts inspired by dreamtime (where I think you mentioned seeing me as well: again laughing, blushing, happy and humble – you gotta a real talent Sis 🙂 ), it was really mesmerizing in the way it was written, so I hope you can leverage on it more!
I remember seeing a fantastic Thai movie called Uncle Boonmee Who Can Recall His Past Lives, check it out. luv xox
p.s. NYC baby 😉
I am so touched by your awareness: entering worlds without the expected or customary tools: drumming etc., the understanding of multidimensional existence. Yes, ego is survival mechanism; sometimes the only thing that holds us where we need to be temporarily in order to learn and grow. It can be a blessed tool. I don’t know that planetary life is possible without the ego survival mechanism. What you describe without it….sounds like paradise.
Living in the formless while observing, witnessing kaleidoscopic form leads to the one that is many.
On another note, I looked over your tracking guidelines. They are so clear and necessary. What a wonderful journey you create!
Hi Penelope, thank you so much for your thoughtful comments and for pinpointing my tracking guidelines. You would be surprised by how many people contact me, ticking the ‘I read the terms and conditions’ button, but they never really read them… For me, the guidelines are not a formality but absolutely essential for establishing the right relationship from the very beginning.
As for the ego mind, yes I agree it is essential to ensure our physical survival, yet the danger is that it is still the driving force for so many of us. If more of us had the ego mind under control, instead of being controlled by it, our world would be much closer to paradise 🙂 . luv xox
Free will, intuition and choice… all readily available to us as adults. When we choose to be aware, especially what lies beyond our self-limiting beliefs, we are open to an abundance of counsel and wisdom that few choose to experience and be. Such an awakening you have beautifully surfaced.
Yes, yes, yes! This is so well said Eric! No esoteric b…..it 🙂 Simply by choosing to reach beyond our self-limiting beliefs, a whole new world of possibility opens to us – to choose from, again and again… Us creating our own roads, our own choices, in this body, in this life time. Wow, brilliant! Thanks so much for making the idea available to all 😉 No excuses here haha xox
such a brilliant post, full of beautiful gems…including that 11-year old. ❤ i had to read it again to let it really sink in! i love this: "Our free will lies in our innate ability to live multiple existences simultaneously and decide which one we want to focus our energy on" and this: "heroes embrace the fear of the unknown, with the fearless transparency of their true being, allowing the possibility of being transversed across the universes in multiple existences all intertwining into one destiny." you are a wonderful writer! it is an exciting time to be on planet earth and realize how powerful we truly are beyond the ego. it is challenging, it is thrilling…and it feels very alive. big love! xo aleya
He is really precious 😉 ❤
Thanks so much Aleya, luv u xox
What a wise 11-year old. I am struck by the inspiration of choosing which realm one wants to occupy even in the mundane world. It is so easy to forget that we have choices and can inhabit one of many realities at once. I’d love to see this dragon.
Happy new year and best wishes to you and yours for health, happiness, peace & prosperity in 2015!
Happy New Year, ST! 2015 & Beyond! Wishing you and yours a wonderful year. ~Ka
Sending thoughts your way as this year already races away.. Love to you Sue xox
What a wonderful story. Beautifully told. Thanks for sharing.
Come back to us isister. It has been 6 months, we miss you.
Beautifully written and thought provoking. I have a saying which may be appropriate here, especially when it comes to the ease with which children seem to accept their multi-dimensional awareness. “We are born enlightened, ignorance is learned.” If you look into a new born baby’s eyes from certain angles you can see the universe.
