What will you Leave Behind?
Inspired by Bangkok-based artist’s, Nino Sarabutra’s, exhibition “What will you leave behind?”. She filled the floor of Ardel Gallery in Bangkok with 100,000 miniature porcelain skulls, inviting visitors to walk on them contemplating the question…

I had the pleasure of experiencing the Ai Weiwei Sunflower Seeds Turbine Hall exhibition at the Tate Modern (London) in late 2010. He used over 100 million individual, hand-painted porcelain Sunflower Seeds in this major sculpture, which without doubt, transcended into a spiritual experience for me.
The power of the piece lay in the fact that I could pick up and hold an individual seed, bond with it before replacing it into the vast ocean of similar seeds where its beauty was enhanced.
Great art demands both a spiritual and emotional response from us, or why else would we bother with any form of self expression? It seems both these artists are requiring us to ask important questions about our individual and collective existences.
Thank you for your recent likes, it is always a pleasure to see your fantastic hat appear.
